Back to the Crack

So while my Xbox 360 is in McAllen, Texas, undergoing repairs, I've been incredibly bored. So bored in fact, that I've renewed my subscription to World of Warcraft.

It's been well over a year since I've played this game in earnest. They actually mailed me a trial copy of the Burning Crusade expansion pack and I gave that a go, but I wasn't willing to pony up $30 for the game and an additional $15 a month for the monthly subscription.

I'm more disgusted with myself than happy that I'm playing this game again. As anyone who has played it can attest, this game is the internet's version of high-quality heroin. But unlike any of the street drugs I've ever bought from dealers on street corners at two in the morning, you can pay for it by credit card.

So I'm playing a game I don't really want to play because I have nothing else to do with my time. And before you crack wise, since my Xbox died I've read two books, watched several movies, started catching up on Dexter, programmed all my Season Passes into my new TiVo, cleaned up my house and started putting together a new aquarium system. If I didn't do something soon, I was going to start spending a lot of money I don't have replacing the fence in my backyard and clearing out my shed.

So if you have some other idea what I can do in my spare time, let me know. And putting batteries in the rest of my child's Christmas toys is not an option; I'm holding off on that as long as I possibly can.
